Green Bin

About your GREEN bin collection
Rutland County Council collects your GREEN garden waste bin on the same day (every two weeks) as your GREY recycling bin. Please note that the garden waste collections switch to monthly between December and February (inclusive) as the level of garden waste reduces.
What items can I put in my green bin?
You can put all these items in your green bin:-
* Weeds, tree and shrub prunings (up to 4 inches/10cm), grass cuttings.
* Small amounts of soil with weeds.
* Wood shavings (sawdust)

Please do not put the following in your green waste bin:-
* Any plastic materials, ie. plastic bags, packaging and plant pots.
* Animal waste.
* General household waste.
* Disposable nappies.
* Chipboard of any description.
* Vacuum cleaner bags and contents.
Please note that your green waste bin will not be emptied if it is over filled or too heavy. Please take items too large, too heavy or too difficult to fit in the bin to a Civic Amenity site (waste tip), either at Cottesmore or North Luffenham.
