Recycling Bin Deliveries
Published:Saturday 8 March 2008Deliveries are ahead of schedule and crews have already visited a number of villages including Ashwell, Burley, Whitwell, Exton, Empingham and Langham (not Ranksborough). Those scheduled for later in the month may find delivery is slightly earlier that expected as delivery crews are making good progress and taking advantage of the good weather. Once the new system starts on 31 March 08, residents should automatically start using the new black bin for landfill waste, the new grey bin for recycling and the existing green bin will transfer use to a garden waste bin. Until 31 March 08, residents should continue using the current system. Those residents who are currently on the trial recycling scheme in Oakham South East will receive two new bins during March (a larger black landfill bin and a grey recycling bin). Residents in this area will continue to use their green bins for garden waste. They should continue using their small black bin, blue recycling sacks and green garden waste bin throughout March and then from 31 March 08 switch to the same system as the rest of the county. The smaller black bins will be collected from their homes; this is being outlined in a letter being sent to all 1100 households in the trial area. If you have a question about the new recycling scheme or you would like to notify Rutland County Council that you do not require a green garden bin, then please visit the dedicated recycling website which can be found at www.recycle4rutland.org.uk, email recycling@rutland.gov.uk or telephone 01572 722 577. | ||
