Bin Delivery UPDATE

Published:Wednesday 26 March 2008

RecyclingResidents in Exton, Whitwell and Burley are being advised that delivery of their new grey (recycling) and black (landfill) bins is taking place this morning (Wednesday 26 March 08).

Villagers were expecting to receive the new bins a couple of weeks ago, as outlined on the draft delivery timetable, but due to an oversight this did not take place.

Delivery of the new bins continues in other areas of the county through to Friday 28 March and Rutland County Council/Cory Environmental is confident that everybody will have their new bins by the end of the week (as planned).

Councillor Janine Rodger says, 'The four week delivery process has gone better than we could have expected, with many areas receiving their bins earlier than expected, and I’d like to thank crews for their hard work. We’re now delivering bins to one or two missed areas, which will always happen with a project this size, and this 'mopping up' phase was always built into the original timetable'.

Councillor Rodger added, 'I'd also like to thank residents who've read the information provided, waited for their bins to be delivered and then contacted us with any questions'.
